WEF Report Reveals Greece's Competitiveness Dropped in 2016

exports peachesAccording to the Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday, Greece has dropped in its competitiveness.
Greece came in 86th place out of 138 countries; a five place drop from the previous year.
“Declining openness in the global economy is harming competitiveness and making it harder for leaders to drive sustainable, inclusive growth,” said Klaus Schwab, WEF founder and executive chairman, according to ekathimerini.com.
The country has been less than ideal for conducting business over the past few years with rising policy instability, tax rates and regulations, heavy bureaucracy and difficulty finding financing options for companies. The report categorized the difficulties holding back competitiveness in Greece as “most problematic factors for doing business.”
Topping the list of the most competitive countries are: Switzerland, Singapore and the United States.
