Turkey's Claims of 'Grey Zones' in Aegean are Figments of Imagination, President Pavlopoulos Says

Prokopis PavlopoulosAny challenge to the Treaty of Lausanne is a challenge to European soil, President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said on Wednesday, noting that any claims by Turkey that there are “grey zones” in the Aegean belong “to its imagination.”
Pavlopoulos made the comments during an event in Karpathos where he was proclaimed an honorary citizen of the island.
Referring to recent comments by Turkish officials on the Treaty, he said if international law is violated, then peace is also violated. “This is an issue that concerns Europe as well because Greece’s borders are also European borders,” he noted.
Pavlopoulos said Turkey faced difficult times in July with the failed coup, during which Greece extended a hand of friendship, adding “But Turkey must know that grey zones only exist in its imagination,” he added.
