Increasing Number of Greeks Pay Income and Property Tax With Credit Cards

creditcards1More and more Greeks have turned to credit cards to help them in paying their income and property taxes, according to the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.
According to their data, the total amount of taxes put on credit cards in 2016 has exceeded 500 million euros which doubles the numbers of 2015.
Paying increasingly high taxes with salaries consistently being slashed, Greeks have found that instead of shelling out lump sums of cash to pay their taxes, relying on their credit cards and the ability to spread the payments over a 12-month period is friendlier to their wallets.
The report published by Kathimerini states that banks officials commented to the newspaper explaining that the credit card debts are being paid off in a timely manner overall, and that there are no bad debts accumulating thus far.
