A Big, Fat Indian Wedding on Mykonos Like No Other [video]

indian-wedding-on-mykonosMykonos is known for its blue seas and white-washed cube houses, however, it suddenly got a Bollywood feel when a big, fat Indian wedding took place on the island. Images are going viral over the internet showing the Bollywood-style wedding at Platis Gialos. The newly-weds, an Indian couple living and working London, had dreamed of a Greek wedding.
Neel Davda, the groom (a tech expert) arrived at the ceremony on a caique and walked on the beach with his friends. Syrtaki music started blaring over the megaphone system and they started dancing until the bride arrived wearing a gold-embroidered sari.
A wedding celebration followed at Dk Oyster with hot chili and curry, matched with Greek delicacies such as lamb souvlaki, spanakopita (spinache pies), fresh fish, tzatziki and stuffed vegetables.
It was a multi-cultural affair both on the table and surrounding it as guests arrived from India, the United States and London. They received gifts of honey and oil as mementos of Greece and also found nuts on their chairs according to the Indian wedding custom.
The area was decorated with hues of red, gold and dark orange and floral decorations included roses and lilies. The wedding cake was cut at 8 p.m., however, the celebration carried on until the early hours of the morning.
