Greeks Cutting Back on Dental Care Due to Financial Crisis

dental-problemsAccording to ELSTAT, spending on dental hygiene in Greece has fallen dramatically during the past 7 years of the financial crisis hitting the nation.
In fact, the numbers are so staggering that there is a conference dealing with the impact of the financial crisis on oral health care set to take place in Athens at the Athens Concert Hall on Saturday.
The statistic authority released numbers showing that in 2009 Greeks spent 1.95 billion euros on oral care, averaging about 470 euros annually per household. This number has dropped considerably, in 2015 the average spent per household was only about 170 euros, or 701 million euros across the country.
