Rioters Attack Police with Petrol Bombs in Exarchia

riot policeEarly Saturday morning clashes between rioters and the police took place near the Athens Polytechnic in Exarchia.
Sources report that following a group of unidentified people throwing petrol bombs at riot police at a unit stationed on the corner of Marnis and Patission Streets the clash escalated, resulting in Patission Street being closed off until 5:30 a.m.
Although, there were no injuries or arrests reported, the clash did see petrol bombs launched at the riot police, as well as dumpsters set on fire.
Police are investigating the incident and have no further information at this time about what group might be responsible.
