"Costa Crociere" will not Include the Aegean in 2017 Cruise Schedule

costa-crociereThe decision of the shipping company “Costa Crociere” to retire from the Aegean and not to include it in its cruise schedule for 2017 has caused concern to businessmen at the ports of Volos, Piraeus, Nafplio and Kalamata.
The company’s cruise ship “Costa NeoClassica” (2,400 passengers percentage) docked at the port of Volos every 10 days and contributed significantly to the local economy.
At an annual basis, “Costa NeoClassica” brought 38,000 tourists, mostly Europeans, to Greece.
The company explained that its decision to stop cruises in the Aegean has to do with the instability in the wider area of eastern Mediterranean, the developments in Turkey and the refugee issue.
