The opposition party New Democracy (ND) has gained considerable popularity, according to the latest polls.
A survey published on Wednesday by MBR showed that Greeks are in favor of ND some 12.9 points more than the ruling SYRIZA government.
Other results showed that the far-right party of Golden Dawn has 8.3 percent of the population’s support, while Democratic Alignment, known as PASOK had 6.5 percent, the Greek Communist Party (KKE) had 6.4 percent and former speaker Zoe Constantopoulou’s new party called Sailing for Freedom party had 3.1 percent.
Other political parties such as Independent Greeks (ANEL), To Potami and Antarsya all scored less than 3 percent in the poll.
Also noted in the survey is that 29.1 percent of Greeks say that they are in favor of voting for a conservative party such as ND compared to only 16.2 percent saying that they would still support a leftist party such as SYRIZA.
