Police Bust Real Estate Racket in Athens, Three Suspects Arrested

It was recently announced by the Greek police that they have busted three men suspected of blackmailing and threatening property buyers into doing business with them and paying them commission for real estate purchases dating as far back as 2006.
The three men aged 46 to 69-years-old are being accused by investigators of threatening contractors as well as real estate agents and potential buyers both verbally and physically as sources report that one incident even involved setting fire to an individual’s car after they did not abide by the threats.
Police say that the eldest of the men, the 69-year-old, is behind the master-minding of the scheme while the other two suspects arrested would carry out the threats in various forms.
There is mounting evidence in the case and to date investigators have linked the suspects to six different cases, according to sources.
