A survey conducted by GfK was released on Thursday revealed that Greeks can not afford to purchase items beyond their daily needs.
There was also a notable gap between consumer sentiment in Greece and other EU countries in 2016, according to the data which revealed that consumer sentiment in other EU countries recorded a nine-year high in Q4, while Greeks have had to deal with salary cuts and high unemployment, causing a week increase in revenues and spending.
The data from GfK’s consumer sentiment survey also showed the end results for Q4 in regards to Greek consumers’ purchases as unaffected by the GDP rising in the Q3 of 2016.
