Vast Majority of Greeks Pessimistic Over Pension Prospects

The vast majority of Greek citizens in their 30s and 40s are very pessimistic over their pension prospects, a public opinion survey by “Interview” showed on Thursday.
Ninety-four percent of respondents in the survey said their pensions, in the next 20 or 30 years, will not correspond to their social insurance contributions.
The survey, conducted on a sample of 715 adults around the country in the period February 13-15, said that 59 percent of respondents believed that the latest social insurance reform was moving in the wrong direction, while 96 percent expected a new cut in main pensions. Eighty-seven percent of respondents said that medical-pharmaceutical services offered by their social insurance funds were not good, in relation with their social insurance contributions. Only 10 percent said these services were good, while 3 percent did not answer.
