Europa League: Draw Decides Besiktas Will Play Olympiakos, 'War on Social Media'

Turkish team Besiktas will be playing opposite Olympiakos in phase of “16” of the Europa League as a result of the draw held on Friday afternoon.
It is the second Turkish team that will be playing against Olympiakos after Osmanlispor — which was excluded after the Greek team’s 3-0 win last night in Ankara. The Greek champion will play at home in the first of two games, which will be taking place on March 9 and 16.

“Greco-Turkish war” erupts on social Media
A “war erupted on social media immediately after the Olympiakos-Besiktas draw for phase “16” of the Europa League. The Greek team was threatened and sworn at by Besiktas fans who even went as far as mentioning the destruction of Smyrna.
Administrators of the Olympiakos page are trying to erase a lot of messages in an effort to resolve any tension and restore good spirit. Moreover, the two teams have quite a friendly relationship, but that didn’t stop Greek fans from retaliating with similar posts that overflowed with nationalism.
