A meeting of the UN Secretary General with the leaders of the two communities in Cyprus, in the coming days, is not in the cards, a source close to the Greek Cypriot negotiating team has told CNA.
Questioned on a possible meeting between Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades with the UN SG, during the President`s stay in New York next week, the same source said nothing of the kind has been arranged so far.
According to a Turkish Cypriot newspaper, Kibris postasi, there is a claim that the two leaders, who have not met since February 16, at the invitation of the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres will go to New York next week where they will meet together to overcome the present stalemate in the negotiation process.
