Greece Inches Closer in World Cup Qualifiers

Costas Mitroglou scores Greece’s only shot to earn the national team a precious 1-1 draw in Belgium for the World Cup qualifiers at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

In the 64th minute Greece went from playing with 11 men on the pitch to finishing the game with only nine players. Players Tachtsidis, Tzavellas, and Samaris will miss Greece’s game in June against Bosnia.

Manager Michael Skibbe said: “I am very satisfied. The point is good and the boys carried out the plan to bring us the prize. “The group remains open. We have to go from match to match and play like we know we can.” He added: “I don’t want to talk about the red cards.”
