PM Tsipras: Georgian Citizens' Right to Travel Without Visa to EU a Milestone

The opportunity given to Georgian citizens to travel without visa to the Schengen countries is a milestone for the relations of Georgia with the European Union, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday in a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikasvili. Tsipras praised Kvirikasvili who is the first citizen of his country making use of his right to travel to Greece without a visa.
The Greek prime minister underlined that it is an opportunity to further strengthen the Georgia’s cooperation with the European Union and Greece and it will play an important role as it will boost the bilateral relations. He also said that the Greek government and the EU Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos contributed significantly to this initiative.
“The liberalization of the visa regime for citizens of Georgia” will give a boost to the number of tourists who will visit Greece and support business cooperation, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikasvili said on Tuesday after a meeting with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. He also referred to the significant results from the visit of Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and Administrative Reconstruction Minister Olga Gerovassili in Georgia.
