The president of the Thessaloniki Pharmacists’ Association, Kyriakos Theodosiadis, said that there are many acute shortages of prescription drugs, including some vital vaccinations for children.
The president of the association claims that the shortages are being caused by suppliers’ tactics in sending only a limited supply of the drugs with each shipment.
On Monday Theodosiadis said that “Right now we have a serious shortage in vaccinations for children aged 6 months to 15 years, including for measles, chicken pox and also hepatitis,” adding that pharmacies are so short of prescription medications that some patients have to wait up to four months before their prescription is filled.
