Underage Driver in Car Crash Leaves 4 Dead, 1 Injured in Thessaloniki

Four young people were killed and one injured when a car driven by a 17-year-old male crashed into a wall and then on a median fence on the Thessaloniki ring road early Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. in the Evosmos area as the car carrying five passengers swerved for unknown reasons and hit a concrete wall then fell on the median fence and crashed.
Police, the fire department and two ambulances rushed to the spot and pulled four dead and one seriously injured out of the wreckage. The fifth passenger was taken to the AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki.
According to information given by authorities, the 17-year-old who was driving the car is dead along with a 19-year-old passenger and two young men whose age has not been confirmed. The injured passenger is also 17.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident. It should be noted that the legal age to drive in Greece is 18.
