A Syrian refugee set himself ablaze shortly after 2 p.m. at the Vial refugee camp in Chios, in protest of being held on the Greek island with no examination of the asylum request he has submitted.
The 29-year-old refugee is in hospital after being treated for serious burns he suffered throughout 85% of his body; his transfer to Athens is necessary to better treat his wounds.
