Turkish President: We Will Not Accept Faits Accomplis in the Aegean

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made yet another provocative statement regarding Greek territory saying that his country will not accept any faits accomplis in the Aegean.
Addressing Turkey’s National Security Council, the Turkish president spoke about relations with Greece, Cyprus and the European Union, the Aegean, Syria and the issue of Kurds.
In the meeting it was decided that Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci will withdraw from peace talks with the United Nations and Nicosia.
Regarding Greece, Erdogan said that he would prefer to solve the problems between the neighboring countries through constructive dialogue. However, he stated, he will not allow for any faits accomplis.
For the next few days, Turkey has planned seismic surveys in the Mediterranean while at the same time Ankara has raised the issue of “gray zones” in the Aegean, challenging the sovereignty of Greek territories.
