Greek Court Rejects Extradition Requests for Two Turkish Soldiers

On Thursday a Greek court once again ruled against the extradition of two of the eight Turkish soldiers who fled from Turkey to Greece following the failed coup attempt in July, 2016.
Previously the Greek courts have rejected the extradition requests made by the Turkish government for six of the eight soldiers.
The soldiers have said that they fear for their lives and that they will not be given fair treatment if returned to Turkey.
Turkey says Greece’s decision to block soldiers’ extradition political
Turkey on Thursday slammed a Greek court decision to block a second extradition request for Turkish soldiers who fled to Greece after last year’s failed coup, calling it a political decision that would impact relations.
Turkey’s foreign ministry said Greece’s judiciary had “once again” disappointed Ankara, adding it was not receiving the necessary support from an ally in the fight against terrorism and crime.
