Our Proposal is Realistic and Could Unlock the Process, Greek Cypriot Side Says

The proposal tabled by Cyprus President Nicos Anastasides is realistic and could unlock the negotiations over a Cyprus settlement, the Greek Cypriot side said on Friday, as Anastasiades and the Mustafa Akinci, the Turkish Cypriot leader, will head to New York to meet UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Sunday.
Guterres will meet Anastasiades and Akinci over dinner Sunday in a bid to reconvene a new conference on Cyprus in Geneva.
The Greek Cypriot side has proposed that a Conference on Cyprus, in Geneva, should begin with the chapter of Security and Guarantees and should progress on the basis of specific and mutually agreed criteria. Discussions should proceed to territorial adjustments to be followed by outstanding issues.
