24 Percent of Young Greeks are Unable to Name Four or More EU Achievements

84 percent of Greeks age16-25 say that peace is the most important result of the country’s membership in the European Union, according to an upcoming survey.
The Network a pro-European think tank along with MAD TV conducted the survey and over 1,000 university and high school students participated.
The same survey noted 24 percent are unable to recall three or more achievements among the EU member states.
 
Numbers Breakdown
86 percent agreed it is “very significant” that they can travel, live, study or work freely across the EU.
83 percent said that the union can play a key role in “protecting fundamental rights regardless of gender, race, religion, disability or age.”
72 percent said it is positive that “we have a common strong currency which makes our transactions easier.”
37 percent say that Greece’s membership in the EU is negative.
Greece joined the EEC, the predecessor of today’s EU, in 1981.
