Kammenos to Address Parliament Regarding Questions about his Communications with Convicted Heroin Smuggler

Following controversy over Greece’s defense minister, Panos Kammenos having a telephone conversation with a convicted heroin-smuggler Makis Yiannousakis who is serving a life sentence, it was announced that he will be addressing Parliament on Monday.
According to ekathimerini.com, Kammenos will present his response to a series of questions to the House by opposition New Democracy vice president Adonis Georgiadis.
The questions revolve around leaked audio which suggests that Kammenos may have made promises to former shipowner Makis Yiannousakis who was sentenced to life for the 2014 Noor 1 heroin-smuggling case. Kammenos claims that Yiannousakis approached him because he was seeking judicial protection.
