Stray Bullet Threatens Student in Menidi, Two Weeks After Fatal Incident

A 14-year-old junior high school student was almost hit by a stray bullet in Menidi, Attica, on Sunday, only two weeks after another stray shot killed an 11-year-old boy, according to the Hellenic Police.
The 14-year-old girl was playing with friends in the balcony of her home in the Agios Athanasios neighborhood in Menidi. Suddenly, a bullet passed centimeters from her head and was wedged on the wall.
The family notified the police immediately. The police officers rushed to the spot and searched the area to find the perpetrator.
According to an initial police announcement, the shot was fired from a nine-milimeter pistol, a similar handgun that shot the bullet that took the life of the 11-year old in the local school yard on June 8.
