IMF's Velculescu Says Debt Relief Measures Must be Specified; Gov't Must Implement Reforms

International Monetary Fund’s Greece mission chief Delia Velculescu said on Wednesday talks among Greece’s creditors to specify the debt relief measures which will be offered to Greece must be completed soon.
Speaking at an Economist conference in southern Athens, Velculescu also said the Greek government must fully implement the reforms it recently adopted on pensions and the tax free ceiling, noting that, in the past, there had been difficulty in implementing the structural reforms agreed between the government and its lenders.
She then reiterated the Fund’s position for the need to reduce Greece’s primary surplus target to 1 percent of GDP, adding that it is necessary for the assumptions on which debt relief measures will be based to be realistic.
