Monday’s discussions on the thorny issue of security and guarantees concluded in the evening after a session lasting one and-a-half hours, during which Cyprus’ three guarantor powers (Greece, Turkey and the UK) and the leaders of the island’s two communities, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci were present.
Talks will continue on Tuesday morning with a discussion on security matters and issues relating to guarantees at table 1.
Later on talks will resume at table 2 on the remaining five chapters, which relate to governance, EU matters, property, territory and the economy.
