Petrol Bomb Attack at the Home of Prominent Greek Minister

Petrol bombs were thrown at police officers guarding the residence of State Secretary Alekos Flambouraris in the Exarchia district of central Athens.

No-one was injured in the attack but a police vehicle was seriously damaged as it was engulfed in flames.

According to police, the attack, carried out by about 15 hooded men, occurred on Saturday at noon.

After the attack, the perpetrators disappeared. A police operation in the area is in progress to locate and arrest them.

Correspondents say that this latest attack is the eighth attack on Flambouraris’ home.
