Carriage Horse Collapses at the Venetian Harbor in Chania, Crete

Tourists and locals were shocked when a carriage horse collapsed on Saturday afternoon at the Venetian Harbor in Chania, Crete.
According to Creta Live news website, the horse was exhausted and fell, pulling down with it the whole carriage. Several attempts and a bucket of water were needed to bring the animal back to consciousness.
According to the report, several foreign visitors shouted at the carriage owners: “Shame on you! You exhaust the animals!” Some of them were pushed away by the owners when they tried to approach the horse to take pictures.
The tourists also accused the owners of the carriages that they do not water the animals, as the horse got up on its feet after drinking a bucket of water.
The incident brought back the debate over horse-carriage traffic at the Venetian Harbor at peak hours.
