The woman’s injuries were severe and the difficult surgery that lasted eight hours failed to keep her alive, with doctors pronouncing her clinically dead.
On Friday, one day after the attack on the capital of Catalonia, the following press release from the Greek Embassy in Spain informed that the woman was of German nationality, married to a Greek citizen, while her two children, who were also injured during the terrorist strike, have dual citizenship, both Greek and German.
Her family signed for the donation of her organs.
The mother of two was with her family in Las Ramblas, when a 22-year-old Moroccan jihadist drove a van into the crowd.
After the doctors’ announcement, the death toll of the terrorist attack stands at 16.
