Volunteers Clean Up Ftelia Beach on Mykonos (video)

Residents and visitors of Mykonos demonstrated their love for the cosmopolitan island by participating in the voluntary initiative of the All For Blue international organization, for the coastal and underwater cleaning of Ftelia Beach.
As it has been officially characterized as an archaeological site, Ftelia Beach is the only beach on the island with free access for all, and without any businesses exploiting the site.
On Sunday, under the auspices of the Mykonos Municipality, the All For Blue organization coordinated the volunteer action to clean up the beach. Former fashion model, Katerina Topouzoglou; presently an active citizen of Mykonos, plus a specialist in marine cleaning, was among the volunteers.
Mykonos Live TV dove into the waters of Ftelia and took underwater shots of the cleaning activities. Mayor of Mykonos; Konstantinos Koukas, took the chance to speak on camera about the controversial decision of the Greek State to grant the beach to a private business for commercial use.
