While hot temperatures in Athens and southern Greece have dropped by a few degrees over the past two days, in other areas like Olympus and Kaimaktsalan mountains, winter has come early with the first snowfall.
The first flakes of the season fell on Thursday on Olympus; Greece’s highest mountain, and on Kaimaktsalan; the third highest mountain of Greece, in northern Macedonia.
