The father of the Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has died at the age of 53.
Charles Antetokounmpo died from a suspected heart attack in Milwaukee.
Giannis’ elder brother Thanasis, a basketball player for Panathinaikos, has left Greece for the US to be with his family.
The funeral will be held in the US. Giannis has reportedly been granted a leave from Bucks training camp.
Antetokounmpo was admitted to a Greek hospital 10 days ago complaining of intense chest pain. Doctors thought it was necessary to undergo detailed laboratory testing, and he was subjected to coronary angiography.
Antetokounmpo arrived in Greece from Nigeria in 1991, three years before the birth of Giannis.

Veronica gave each of her four sons born in Greece both a Greek and a Nigerian name.
