Rare Pictures of 20th Century Thessaloniki go on Display

Twentieth century Thessaloniki is presented through 160 rare photographs, mostly black and white, in a new glossy photo album published by the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece.

Edited by Iraklis Papaioannou and Evdoxia Radi, the album; testament to the people and the everyday life in Greece’s second largest city, will be released on October 10.

Titled “Thessaloniki, a City of People – Photographs of the 20th Century” it includes photos gathered from well-known collectors, institutions, museums and photographers -photojournalists.

Prominent historians and social scientists explain the significance of the photos included in the album, that depict how everyday life changed over the century in Thessaloniki.
