Greece’s Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos wrote “Nothing will be the same” on the EU flag, as a farewell note to departing German finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, on Monday.
Monday’s Eurogroup in Luxembourg ended with a sentimental note as Schaeuble participated for the last time, before taking his new position as President of the German Parliament. French wines, euro bills with his picture on them, and farewell messages written on the European Union flag, were the highlights.
Tsakalotos, who often clashed with Schaeuble over the austerity measures proposed by the German minister, wrote “Nothing will be the same,” on the EU flag, that was signed by all euro zone finance ministers.
