Turkey’s Stance The Reason for No Solution

Turkey’s persistence and uncompromising position regarding the continuation of the guarantees system and the maintenance of Turkish troops in Cyprus, was the reason an agreement was not found during the Cyprus talks in Crans-Montana, said President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades.

Speaking at the national memorial service for hero Evagoras Papachristoforou, the President said that the Greek Cypriot side made every effort to achieve a solution regarding the Cyprus problem, in Switzerland.

Unfortunately; despite the efforts, Turkey has yet again maintained the same stance it has been claiming for 43 years; regardless of who has been president, or the policy of the Greek Cypriot side.
