Anarchists Attack Police with Molotov Cocktails in Athens

A group of about 20 hooded persons coming out of the National Technical University of Athens administration building hurled molotov cocktails at police on Friday night.
The incident took place at the corner of Patission and Tositsa streets, next to the university building and adjacent to the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, where a riot police unit stands guard on 24-hour basis.
The perpetrators, who had their faces covered, threw molotov cocktails and rocks at the policemen. The riot squad reacted by using tear gas to repel the assailants.
Such incidents take place on a weekly basis in the general Exarchia area, the “headquarters” of various anarchist groups.
