Magnitude 4.5 Quake Jolts Kos in Eastern Aegean


An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred at 12.36 pm local time, east of the Greek island of Kos.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of Athens its epicenter was 36 km east of Kos.
The jolt was felt in the island, but no injuries or damage has been reported.
“The earthquake was strong and was felt throughout the island,” a resident said.
Last July,  two people were killed from a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit Kos and the Turkish side of the Aegean Sea.
