Turkish Helicopter Violates Greek Airspace Over Imia

Α Turkish helicopter violated Greek airspace over the Imia islets in the Dodecanese, twice on Friday.

The Greek Ministry of Defense says that a Turkish AB-412 helicopter flew over the islets at an altitude of only 100 feet, at 07:59 local time.

A little later it made a second violation flying at a height of 300 feet above Imia.

Greek defense sources speculate that the illegal flights maybe connected with the ongoing operation of Frontex and the Greek Coast Guard to rescue migrants that may be missing from the sinking of their boot earlier on Friday
