Greece’s “eternal rivals” in all sports, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, scored two great wins against Istanbul teams in two consecutive nights for the Euroleague Basketball.
After Olympiacos‘ Wednesday win against Fenerbahce in Istanbul 90-83 in overtime, on Thursday, Panathinaikos repeated the triumph of its rival in Istanbul by beating Anadolu Efes 82-81.
Olympiacos got revenge on reigning champs Fenerbahce, after the May loss in the final against the Istanbul team. Giorgos Printezis was the MVP for the Greek club scoring 18 points.
On Thursday night, Panathinaikos had the extraordinary Nick Calathes; who did pretty much everything in the court for the Athens team: He scored 29 points, gave 10 assists and won 9 rebounds.
