An intense storm; accompanied with hail in the city centre, hit Athens late on Thursday evening causing chaos on the roads.
The storm was also accompanied by continuous lightning; causing many drivers to be stuck in their vehicles, unable to move.
The prefecture of Athens announced that all schools will remain closed on Friday due to the adverse weather conditions.
