Death Toll from Mandra Flooding Rises to 20

Another body was recovered earlier on Sunday from the flooded Mandra suburb of Attica, raising the death toll of Wednesday’s Eurydice hailstorm to 20.
The body of a 74-year-old man was discovered in the Mandra bus depot, a few metres away from that of the 38-year-old, which was found on Saturday, under tons of mud.
The man, identified as retired army Colonel Dimitrios Goutos, also a hunter, was among the missing persons authorities have been searching for since Wednesday’s floods.
His identity was confirmed after his body was transferred to Thriasio hospital.
With the official Eurydice storm death toll at 20 people, the police and the fire department are now looking for the remaining 2 missing persons from Wednesday’s list.
