Greek Doctors Up in Arms with Short Film against Sexual Harassment

The Medical Association of Athens condemned a short film aiming to highlight the problem of sexual harassment as “slanderous and dangerous”.
The film by the General Secretariat for Gender Equality (SGGA) presents a pediatrician sexually harassing a mother.
SGGA said that the film; along with another three films that were aired on Greek TV and posted on the internet, is based on a true story.
The campaign is running ahead of the November 25 occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
However, the Medical Association claims that it targets Greek doctors and undermines the reputation of the profession.
In a statement it says that such a complaint was never filed.
And adds:
“Without being able to deny that such an isolated and extreme incident has taken place, this spot is libelous for the medical body, affects the prestige, moral and social value of all the Greek doctors and undermines the relationship of trust between physician and patient.”
