Turkish President Erdogan Honors Greek Dead at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (video)

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Greek parliament on Thursday.

The Tomb is a war memorial located in Syntagma Square. It is a cenotaph dedicated to the Greek soldiers killed during war.

In the centre of the Tomb there is a sculpture representing the naked male figure of a dead warrior lying on the ground.

The names of battles where many Greek lives were lost in recent history are written into the limestone walls around the sculpture.

Among the battles honoured are the Greco-Turkish War and the war in Cyprus.
