Appalling Conditions at Moria Refugee Camp on Lesvos (videos)

Videos shot by refugees themselves at the Moria refugee camp on Lesvos island, show in detail the squalid living conditions. BuzzFeed news website has picked up some of them.

BuzzFeed reporter, Ryan Broderick, said he was not allowed to bring a camera to take pictures or video inside the camp. The few pictures that he did manage to take, were searched by the authorities for their content.

However, the reporter managed to come in contact with a refugee from Iraq who claimed he was journalist, and a man from Syria who had shot some short videos inside the camp. The videos show the appalling conditions in the overcrowded premises.

A former military prison, the Moria camp was to host 2,000 refugees and migrants. Today, an estimated 7,000 people stay there, with most of them waiting for their asylum applications to be processed.
