Magnitude 5 Earthquake Strikes Near Athens, Greece

A magnitude 5 earthquake struck about 50km NE of Athens at 6:02 am local time according to the US Geological Survey. Its epicentre was located on the coast of the Corinth Gulf at a 10km depth.
The quake was felt in Athens and in many areas in central Greece.
No damages or injuries have been reported.
Earthquakes have historically occurred across central and southern Greece, Cyprus, Sicily, turkey and other neighbouring regions.
