Tourist Couple Commits Suicide Amidst Alleged Satanic Ritual in Cephalonia

The house where the bodies were discovered

Greek authorities say a young tourist couple found dead in a house they were renting in the island of Cephalonia may have committed suicide after a satanic ritual.
Police said Tuesday the couple had been identified as a 30-year-old German man and a 23-year-old woman of Bulgarian descent.
The two were found on New Year’s Eve by the owner of the house they had been renting since Dec. 26.
According to the coroner’s examination the Bulgarian woman had died of bleeding, while the German man seems to have cut off his veins, eventually ending his life by transfixing a knife into his heart.
The coroner’s report says that there is no sign of struggle and there are signs that the man helped the 23-year-old woman die.
The Bulgarian woman was declared missing by her family in June 2017. Her relatives and friends even uploaded her photos to social media, calling for help.
Greek police suspect that the woman had participated recently in ceremonies where she harmed herself, as self-inflicted scars were found in her body.
Police said the investigation was ongoing, and the bodies were being transported to the port city of Patras.
