3D Crossings Amaze Greek City

Tricky crossing: 3D optical illusions on the streets of Naoussa.

Residents of Naoussa could be taking a walk on the wild side every time they cross the road, as a series of weird and wonderful 3D pedestrian crossings have been unveiled in the northern city.
The municipality is the first to dabble in optical illusions for street crossings, according to inaoussa.gr.
Naoussa, in the Imathia prefecture of Macedonia, has collaborated with LOBart — a street-art body — to create the eye-catching crossings.
The idea began with Mayor Nikolaos Koutsogiannis and Deputy Mayor Stavros Valsamidis who thought of placing an artwork near the entrances of two high schools.
Artists Kostis Eddie and Alexandros Tsakonas are credited with the avant-garde designs.
More 3D crossings are scheduled in front of Naoussa Hospital, the Sacrifice site and other central points of the city.
