Two elderly women were killed and one was injured from a fire at a nursing home in the Athenian suburb of Kallithea early on Saturday morning.
Fire fighters that rushed to the scene found the two women dead at the basement of the nursing home.
They managed to rescue nine people, one of whom was taken to a local hospital suffering severe respiratory problems.
The fire which broke at around 6 am local time was extinguished.
There is no word on the causes of the fire.
