Greece can expect more tourists from the Gulf this summer as U.A.E. carrier FlyDubai has revealed it will launch direct flights between Dubai and Thessaloniki later this year.
The flights to Greece’s second city will operate three times a week from June 15.
Fellow Gulf carrier, Qatar Airways, is also planning to fly to Thessaloniki.
A five-hour flight between the U.A.E. and Thessaloniki will cost around $546 return.
The airline describes the city as “situated on the sea with an attractive waterfront and hundreds of historic sights, the most visible of which is the White Tower, which dates from the Ottoman Era.
“Other historic structures include the 4th-century Arch of Galerius, the Byzantine wall, Roman Rotunda and Ancient Agora.”
