Power Grid Brings Greece, FYROM Together

They may be at loggerheads over the name dispute, but Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are moving closer when it comes to generating electricity.

A cross-border meeting between officials from the Greek power company ADMIE and its northern counterpart MEPSO was held in Athens on Thursday, the first such engagement in 11 years.

A release from MEPSO stated the two sides discussed the future of long-distance transmission lines and working groups would be set up to look into further cooperation.

Another bilateral meeting is expected to follow in May.
